Vacation rental booking tips:

Finding your best deal:

  • In the Southport area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Southport area. Booking your Southport vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, management companies supply Southport area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and picking yourrental home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Sands III C2 - Fantastic ocean front condo with pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your group.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

More tips for your stay:

  • Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Call the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
