How to get the best Southport rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • In the Southport area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in Oak Island. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain money saving offers on local tours and attractions.

Planning and choosing your prefect Southport rental:

  • Start by selecting your a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Southern Seabreeze: Remodeled Home with Private Seasonal Pool and Great Ocean Vi has 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's a particular Southport destination you long to visit, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
