Looking for a Pup Friendly BEACH get-a-way Right in the middle of BOTH the ICWW and Atlantic that can fit your entire family so ALL can savor our painted beach sunrises and salty evening breezes? "The Salty Turtle" may be just the home away from home you are looking for! The home consists of 1800 sq ft of balconies, peek-a-boo vistas, and adventures galore! The home's prime location, supplied amenities and beach proximity will make spending your time beach-combing and sun-seeking an Ocean BREEZE!

"The Salty Turtle" is a three level 1900 sq ft Right duplex home that has something for everybody! The ground floor greets you with parking for 3, and outdoor entertainment area, and a storage area with a few beach accessories that our spectacular owner has left to add your adventure! Ample space for a golf cart exists, as does a modest yard in the rear if looking for some grass to go along with all of that sand!

Take the staircase to first floor which features two bedrooms (one with its own private balcony - #1 & #2), a guest bathroom (#1), and a private laundry. Every level has one or MULTIPLE enormous outdoor balconies, decks, and sitting areas with marvelous local neighbor or peek-a-boo Atlantic ocean vistas.

The second floor features an open dining area, breakfast bar, kitchen, and living room. Peek-a-boo Atlantic vistas from the deck and canal vistas await those looking for a modest reminder of what awaits right up the block! The half (#2) bath sits just past the end of the kitchen.

The third floor brings you up to a pair of master bedrooms (#3 & #4). Each has it's own private balcony with respective vistas, breezes, and vantage points of Pleasure Island. The unit's THREE (3) QUEEN and ONE (1) FULL + TWIN bunk consists of either a plush luxury bed or a new encased 8” memory foam/cooling gel composition bed because we want all of our guests to be comfortable when it comes time to recharge.

A few of the amenities included by your Owners include courtesy huge shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel left in the bathroom of each bath as well. Also, a roll of TP in each bathroom, 1 roll of PT in the kitchen, 2 garbage bags per garbage, laundry pods, dishwasher pods, dryer sheets, hand soap, dish soap, a sponge, coffee, tea, and pure cane sugar in each kitchen. Additional items are likely on sight as well!

The HOME: Guests have full access to their own private SUITE/HOME (never shared). The private drive, shower, and yard are also made available solely for our guests to appreciate on your adventure.

PARKING: Each reservation will have access to (3) THREE assigned off street parking spaces.

Outdoor storage closet access: Misc. BEACH items included :)

I will be available for check-in and general assistance until 8PM EST. Anything with the exception of an emergency (ie. flood, fire, or another *safety* related risk sent to Maintenance) will be responded to ASAP the following day :)

Pleasure Island is a coastal barrier island in Southeastern North Carolina, USA just south of the City of Wilmington. Pleasure Island is located within Federal Point Township, in New Hanover County. The coastal resort towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, as well as the annexed communities of Wilmington Beach and Hanby Beach are located on the island.

The home itself is short ride or long walk from Downtown Carolina Beach with its stores, activities and dining. Pleasure Island (Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher) has become a RAPIDLY increasing vacation (and full-time!) destination for the East coast and beyond for many reasons. It’s a family-aligned beach with a touch of everything one might be looking for! It’s an AMAZING place to visit, live, and never leave!

The home is in the heart of Carolina Beach and walking distance to downtown and everything that is has to offer. In Carolina Beach you’ve got the boardwalk, eateries, and local stores of all kinds. If you like adventures, the marina is also there where you can take an offshore fishing trip, diving excursion, or event boat out for a sunset sail. Camping more your thing? Bring the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island.

Carolina Beach and the surrounding neighborhoods offer an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through Carolina Beach State Park, Fishing on the Kure Beach Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. This doesn’t even include the awing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more calming and less “adventure” is your speed? Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!

There isn’t anywhere or anything on our Island that isn’t accessible with foot power. Downtown Carolina Beach has a number of vendors (such as Pleasure Island Units @ 2 N Lake Park Blvd Carolina Beach NC 28428 (golf carts) and Tony Silvagni’s Surf School @ 107 Charlotte ave Carolina Beach NC 28428 (bicycles, paddleboards, surfboards, kayaks) for rent as an alternative to walking or driving. Taxi’s (local golf cart taxi’s) and Uber’s are also generally available for an assist when needed as well throughout the island!

After all, you won’t catch many locals going OTB! (Over The Bridge). Everything you need is right here!

(Sheets, bath towels, wash cloths pillowcases, wash cloths, bathmats) ARE supplied as part of the rental here (excluding beach towels which can be rented through scrubandgo@griffinscleaning dot org. If requiring additional or non-supplied linens, please reach out to Griffin Cleaning Services who is a partner with SWRE and will assist in any way possible! Please make sure all linens are placed in the basket or hamper before your departure! Please let all BED LINENS on the beds remain on the beds for our TEAM to take care of! •The Town of Carolina Beach offers multiple public parking options to visitors and residents on a FIRST COME-FIRST SERVE basis. Town-operated parking is open year round and paid parking is enforced March 1st - October 31st from 9AM - 8PM. Parking costs restart each morning during enforcement hours for all of the Town's parking tons and on-street parking spaces.

GOLF CARTS

•To the county, golf carts are considered automobiles. Generally speaking, golf carts are NOT allowed on premises of ANY condo, condotel, or apartment. The same goes for trailers, motorbikes, etc. For SFR’s or properties supporting multiple cars, carts should be OK. However, be conscious that few homes have external outlets WITHOUT GFCI’S (which are code by today’s standards). Charging a cart on a GFCI will immediately trip the breaker, resulting in the inability to charge a cart amongst other repercussions. Gas carts will generally be the ideal rental option if in a home whose parking supports such.

•ALL suites are non-smoking (including vaping) and a heavy cleaning/repair charge can result if not adhered to. This includes porches, decks, balconies, and walkways.

•There is a $150 non-returnable pet fee for up to two pups. Cats are not allowed on premises.

•April 1st through September 30th, dogs are allowed on the Carolina Beach during restricted hours of BEFORE 9:00 am and AFTER 5:00 pm. On the extreme North End of Carolina Beach, dogs are allowed on leash 24/7 on leash. In Kure Beach, dogs are NOT allowed at any juncture. Fort Fisher accepts dogs on leash on the beach 24/7.

Pup rules for Pet Friendly homes

•Any interactions between your furry son or daughter and other neighbors (animal OR human) are completely at your discretion (and *liability).
•Pups are NEVER allowed on any furnishings. (*Single biggest added charge from the cleaners/owners post stay.)
•Do NOT let your pup bark excessively in any multi-unit environment.
•ALWAYS pick up after your pup IMMEDIATELY after the potty sesh.

•Please always consider TRAVEL INSURANCE from your respective booking site or vendor to help protect your costs in case of inclement weather or last-min. travel complications (court, illness, etc.). These items are NOT returnable scenarios unless the property itself is compromised. If that does happen, we will do our absolute best to find you alternative housing.

  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review.
