Finding the best Southport vacation property experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • Reserve your vacation in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have coupons for nearby tours and attractions.

Choosing the perfect vacation home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Beautiful house built in 2018 - 4 bed w\/ 3 kings, mstr suite, priv. bch access! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
