Surf's Up is a striking oceanfront 3-story 1900 sq ft duplex tucked in the middle of Flora's Bluff on Bald Head Island. The main home consists of 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths and there is a separate 1 bedroom and 1 bath 'crofter.'
The beach is right across the cul-de-sac with access through a public walkway. Everyone can congregate around the kitchen bar, enormous dining room table or relax on the comfortable couches and watch some T.V.. The kitchen is completely equipped with enough silverware, cookware and dishes to make you feel right at home. A huge screened in porch with plenty of seating is the ideal spot to relax and feel the ocean breeze.
On the second floor, you will find the master bedroom with a king sized bed, private bath and a private oceanfront balcony. Just down the hallway is a queen sized bed with a shared bathroom. The upstairs has even more accommodations with another queen bed and two twin beds. A fourth bedroom located in the separate guest home called a 'crofter' is the ideal spot for guest(s) that want a little more privacy. With a queen bed and a private bath, your guests can come and go without disturbing anyone in the main home.

Located on the waterfront, this vacation home is in South Beach, a neighborhood in Bald Head Island. Kent Mitchell Nature Trail and The Clubs at St. James are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Carolina Beach and Caswell Beach. Traveling with kids? Consider North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher and North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

• In the Southport area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. • Summertime is high season in Bald Head Island. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
• Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
• Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.

• Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
• Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.

If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words.
