Tricks and tips to get the optimal Southport vacation home experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • To find the best rental within budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Southport attractions.
  • In the Southport area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Some hosts offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to choose and book yourrental:

  • Select your vacation dates and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. 0cean Horizons \/ 5222 E Beach Drive - Coastal Vacation Resorts has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
