Booking the best Southport rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Wilmington. Book your vacation home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area visitors guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your Search:

  • First, have your family decide on date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. 3 BR Downtown Bungalow, walkable to the riverfront, restaurants and retail has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is right for your group.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or might be applied to your contract.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
