Our top Oak Island vacation rental home tips:

Get the best rental home value:

  • In the Southport area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer time is high season in Oak Island. Book your rental in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies supply Southport area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to pick the best vacation rental in Oak Island:

  • Start by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Kayak Backyard or 1\/2 mile to Beach Single Level Very Few Stairs Pet Friendly has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Tips for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • At Check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
