Tricks and tips to get the very best Southport rental home experience:

When to reserve a Southport rental home & When to go:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Summertime is high season in Ocean Isle Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking your prefect Southport rental:

  • Choose dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 4 Bedroom Cottage with amazing canal views has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before booking the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's an individual Southport beach you are crazy about, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
