Booking the best Southport rental experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Southport area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Selecting and booking a perfect Southport vacation home:

  • Choose dates and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Atlantic Breeze - 4 Bdrm/3 Bath, Oceanfront, Sleeps 12 has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before booking the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Does your group require specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your contract.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
