How to get the best rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking your Southport vacation rental in Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • In the Southport area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking your Southport rental:

  • Select a group lead, choose your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Southern Exposure . Ocean and canal Views! Short stroll to the beach! Elevator has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • If there's a certain Southport beach you love, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
