Vacation rental tips:

Find your best deal:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Carolina Beach. To get the most suitable vacation home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • In the Southport area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Southport area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local tours and attractions.

Selecting and booking the perfect Southport vacation home:

  • Start by selecting your a vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Beach Harbour 17 at The Carolina Beach Boardwalk has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the host before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
