Southport rental home booking tips:

When to visit Ocean Isle Beach & When to reserve a rental home:

  • In the Southport area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best value, shift your family's Southport vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • To start, have your group agree to a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Canal Home with Private Dock - close to town center has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. If not, email or call the property manager before you book your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's an individual Southport attraction you long to visit, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
