Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking your Southport vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area visitors guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Beautiful Ocean Isle Beach Views; Excellent Sunrises at the Windjammer Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, call the host before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your trip.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a specific Southport destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many problems.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
