Sticking to your spending budget:

• Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
• June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best value, change your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
• Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
• Property management companies often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses.
