Southport rental home tips and tricks:

When to go & When to reserve a Carolina Beach rental home:

  • Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Southport area visitors guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing and booking the rightrental home:

  • Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. NEW LISTING! Just for the Shell of it by RedAwning has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
