About the Area

Located in Bald Head Island, this vacation home is near the beach. Bald Head Island Lighthouse and Oak Island Lighthouse are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at The Clubs at St. James and Southport Marina. North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport and Bald Head Island Information Center are also worth visiting. When to reserve a Southport rental home & When to go:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To book the best vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Southport restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Southport visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
