(0.2-mile walk) to beach access and the vintage Carolina Beach boardwalk so rich with nostalgia and appeal! There’s a reason this dreamy, postcard-ideal vacation destination was historically known as “Pleasure Island”!

Living:
The bright, coastal-style living room has pale blue walls the color of ocean mist, white trim and crown molding, wood floors, an oversize sectional couch, and a enormous bean bag chair, generously arranged around a coffee table and wall-mounted SmartTV with cable and Roku.
The living room has muted colors of driftwood, seagrass, sky blue, and ocean blue. Above the couch hangs a huge painting of sea turtles; an eye-catching piece of fine art that honors the namesake of this property “Salty Sea Turtle”.
Appreciate painless conversation, cozying up with a book, or kicking back to stream your favorite shows or movies here. Envision gathering for family game nights or reading bedtime stories on this comfortable couch.
Sliding glass doors from the living room open out to the deck and allow for plenty of natural light. A ceiling fan circulates fresh air throughout the living area.
Kitchen/Dining:
The open-concept design of the kitchen/living/dining area makes for simple entertaining. The completely-equipped kitchen has crisp white cabinets, cavernous white quartz countertops, and stainless steel appliances including a French door refrigerator/freezer with ice maker, an electric range and oven, a microwave, a double basin sink, and a dishwasher. A Keurig and drip coffee maker are both included, as well as a blender, toaster, and chef’s caliber sharp cutlery.
The kitchen peninsula has counter space as well as a chic bar top with upholstered stool seating for four. A great spot to sip your morning coffee or newly squeezed citrus juice! This breakfast bar seating makes the kitchen space much more social and fun! Guests can join the chef for a drink or conversation during meal prep.
If the weather is nice, you may also choose to dine al fresco, on the covered deck, which offers a patio dining table with seating for four.
Bedrooms & Baths:
This condo features three bedrooms and three full baths. Savor cozy wall-to-wall carpeting in every bedroom, as well as silent ceiling fans and SmartTVs. Each bed offers a luxury bed and premium linens for a restful nighttime’s sleep. We also provide 7 bath towel sets, and hairdryers.

Set up yard games in the backyard, or even in the carport on a rainy day. The carport is lit with Edison bulb string lights, which make the space more beachy and festive. There’s a hot/cold outdoor shower just off the carport. Simple to rinse off the salt and sand after a day at the beach!

There’s a covered deck with an alfresco dining table off the main living space on the second floor. Prepare some lobster rolls, seafood tacos, corn on the cob, potato salad or farmer’s market fresh summertime fuit salad. Add a bowl of chips, homemade guacamole, an icy pitcher of margaritas, and glasses garshished with salt and lime. Serve up a gourmet meal alfresco in the sea breeze!

The very best luxury is the beach, which is just a 3-min. stroll from your door. Carolina Beach is famed for its vintage boardwalk and nostalgic oceanside charm!

Neighborhood:

The combination of the coastal setting, ocean vistas, beach access, opulent amenities plus convenience to the iconic “enjoyment island” oceanside boardwalk is the essence of this home. Give your family the carefree, oceanside vacation from your own childhood memories. Boasting wide, white, gently sloping beaches and calm waters, Carolina Beach has been a prized destination for generations of visitors.

The “Salty Sea Turtle” is located in an ideal, central location between Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. This area has been historically voted as one of the most family-friendly oceanside vacation destinations on the East Coast! Park your car and discover the striking neighborhoods by foot, bicycle or golf cart.

Walk to seafood eateries, ice cream parlors, tiki bars, BBQ joints, pretzel stands, legendary glazed donut stores, stores, boardwalk, and grocery markets. Nearby are boat units, sunset cruises, fishing charters, as well as jet ski, bicycle, paddleboard, surfboard, scooter, and kayak units.

There is plenty to do here. The eateries are great! There’s even a brewery with a beer garden. Summer season features outdoor concerts, fireworks displays, and outdoor movies at Carolina Beach Lake Park. Check out annual events such as seasonal fishing tournaments, the famed Pleasure Island Seafood, Blues & Jazz Festival, the Carolina Beach Music Festival, or the annual Pleasure Island Chowder Cook-off.

Kids (and kids at heart!) will adore the skate park, disc golf course, family-friendly beach arcade full of classic arcade games, and the amusement park area with rides. There are plenty of bicycle trails. This friendly, oceanside community is a safe area for kids and teens to discover on bicycles, scooters, skateboards, etc.

Serious about catching fish? Consider chartering a private fishing boat from one of the area’s licensed captains (it is often said they know where the fish are!) Carolina Beach is the basin for off-shore fishing charters.

Just seven mins. south of Carolina Beach is Kure Beach, a quieter, less developed area full of maritime forest hiking trails, nature and birding sanctuaries, and gorgeous pristine beaches ideal for shelling. Kure Beach Fishing Pier is one of the oldest piers on the east coast. You can fish right off the pier! The North Carolina Aquarium and Fort Fisher Historic Park are both located in Kure Beach. Visitors who crave a little off-road adventure should check out Freeman Park, a 4wd-friendly beach area.

Wilmington and N. Myrtle Beach are the closest cities to Carolina Beach, for those craving more cosmopolitan activities.

Tips to get the perfect rental home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Carolina Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Southport area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

How to pick the perfect vacation home in the Southport area:

  • Choose vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Oceanview, Central Location, Easy Beach Access has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
