RUM & REDFISH RETREAT! Gorgeous setting in the sought after west end of Oak Island. The beach is just over 1 mile from the home. The home is a 3BR, 2BA open concept home, has a well equipped kitchen & breakfast bar with 4 stools. In the sunroom, that adjoins the kitchen, is a dining table and access to the 'walled garden' . The living room and kitchen are one sizable room--great for quality family time! To the other side of the living room is the study, where there's games, puzzles & a desk in case you need your computer. The primary bedroom has a king size bed & att. full bath. Two other bedrooms share a 3/4 bath in the hallway.
Fire up the grille while the dog plays in the fenced area or appreciate the front porch with a book! There are bicycles for your use, also savor beach chairs, cooler & cart for your adventures! Just mins. to local stores , eateries, Farmer's Market & playground for kids at Middleton Park and grocery shopping. 20 min to Southport center and 40 min to Wilmington. WIFI, streaming TV capabilities. There is a washer/dryer for your use, but have linen service as part of the cleaning. You'll adore it here!


*On January 10th, 2023 the Oak Island Town Council voted to approve paid parking on the island. The paid parking will be in effect from April 1 through September 30th and the hours are from 9:00am to 5:00pm. The cost will be $5 per hour, $20 per day and $80 per week. There will be a limited (1000) number of annual passes available for purchase for $175. Violations will be issued if these new rules are not followed.*

How to get the best value:

  • In the Southport area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the largest vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Southport attractions.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local Southport area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers.   • Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation.
