How to book the best Southport rental home experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Southport area. To book the best vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • To start, have your group select the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Sturgeon General / 3623 W. Beach Drive - Coastal Vacation Resorts has 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking

Advice for a great stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many issues.
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • During arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
