About this Property

Dazzling rental home on the Oak Island beach.
Sleeps 13 restfully.   1 king, 2 queens, 4 twin XL bunk beds(2 bunk beds), 1 twin bunk trundle that pulls out from under bunk, 1 pullout queen sleeper couch,  and a pack and play.   I made the bunk beds personally out of solid wood and fastners.  I wanted the twin xl so that taller people can have enough room.  All of the Twin XL beds bought April 2021.  Two and a half baths.  Master bath has shower and Jacuzzi tub.  Main floor has has shower tub.  There is also a private shower under the home to tidy up.

The kitchen and wetbar were modernized March 2021.  The kitchen has a new stove, dishwasher, air fryer, blender, griddle, faucets, and sink.  The sink is very neat with a constructed in ledge for drying rack, cutting board, and strainer.   We have pots, pans, silverware, plates, wine glasses, wine bottle opener, and just about everything you need to prepare all your meals and appreciate your drinks.  The wet bar has a libation refrigerator that can store wine and beer.

Lay in the sun on the outdoor space or rock in the shade while still getting the wind from the beach.  The outdoor space has covered and uncovered space with rocking chairs, adirondeck chairs, a picnic table, and lounge chairs.

Technology and Entertainment
We have Spectrum high speed internet and cable on 4 tvs.  We have a total of 5 TVs with 3 of them having internet connection for Apps.  All bedrooms have a TV and USB chargers on the nightstands.  The living room TV is now a 55 inch with Google TV (This has most every app available).    Protected by Nest Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.  Security Cameras on entry doors.  Outside only to ensure security and protect privacy.  The Google home hub in the kitchen can also play the security cameras.  Say "Hey Google Show me driveway" or "Hey Google Show me porch."  Can also play YouTube, music, bring up recipes, weather, and more.  We have 2 boys and the home is ready for children with toys, board games, a infant gate, infant tub, and high chair.    Great space in the living room for adults while the children play games in the loft above.

Accessibility
For those that have trouble with stairs we have an elevator that goes from ground to main floor.  Grab bars have been installed in the main full bath for the toilet and shower to improve accessibility.   There is room under the home for 1-2 cars depending on the size and if you want to squeeze in.  There is a Tesla Electric Car Car Charger under the home as well. The driveway is rock and has room for 2-3 more cars depending on the size.   All exterior locks have digital keypads.  This accepts self checkin, make entry even easier for all visitors with no having to manage 1 key, and is safer because the coes are unique and limited to your stay.   You will get your personal code 2 days before arrival via e-mail.  We have also upgraded the knobs to handles on the elevator and outdoor space doors to improve accessibility.

The Beach
As of June 2021 our outdoor space stairs go right into the dune and get you a good way over on the home side.  There are ropes to mark and use to get over the modest hump.   There is access roughly 4 homes down that accepts to walk straight out.

We are focused on making this a great destination and will be continuing to improve the proptery and comforts.   Please note there is no outdoor Hot Tub.  The cleaning fee covers the cleaning, disenfecting, linens, and towels.   Please note that we do not accept events or events that would exceed the listed occupancy.

How to get the best deal on your rental

  • Find the tourism bureau in the area you wish to travel. Most established tourism bureaus will send you printed tourism guides with promotions for lodging, dining and activities. These guides may provide a good start to your rental search.
  • Desire to steer clear of the crowds of people? Shoulder seasons provide amazing promotions.
  • Are you a armed forces veteran? Several property management companies offer price savings to vets and active-duty servicemembers. Be sure to check with property manager to see if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduction.
  • Some properties are basically designed to serve specific customers, whether it is oceanside units with pier passes, city-center condos with close access to night life or waterfront homes that have their own kiteboarding launching areas. You'll receive the most value from a rental that most thoroughly matches your ideal vacation setting, regardless if it costs a bit extra.
  • Rental companies and individual rental home owners commonly offer their customers the option to obtain trip insurance coverage. Trip insurance, which usually add anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base term price, provides visitors reimbursement of their trip costs for any missed resulting from health related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, like an unexpected hotel room stay or extra fuel. Trip insurance can be a bank account-saver if the unforseen happens (heaven forbid!).

General Rental Advice

First-timers are likely to be surprised at the range and wide selection of daily, weekly and monthly vacation rentals available in the Southport area. With such a wide selection, guests are certain to find a rental home that suits their expectations and spending budget.

The majority of rental homes in Southport are privately owned and many are represented by well-known local rental management agencies. Property owners typically choose management companies to manage promoting and advertising, housekeeping services and regular maintenance.

Here are some tips and suggestions to help you navigate the rental home search and reservation process.

Where to find and reserve the perfect rental home:

Do you think "Tropic like Its Hot Oak Island Oceanfront House - Tropic Like Its Hot Oak Island- Beach Front" is the perfect rental home for your upcoming trip? Look over this check list to make sure it fits your preferences.

The Earlier, The Better

Like many desirable vacation spots, In Southport the best vacation rentals are booked very early. To ensure the very best choice of properties, we recommend searching and reserving your Southport rental Six-12 months in advance, whenever you can. Holiday gatherings are a popular time for families to plan their Summer escapes..

Select your Place and Vacation Week

Start by picking which specific area of Southport you would like to visit, and the approximate travel dates.

Exactly How Much Rental Do You Need?

How many family members are joining your getaway? Keep in mind that most properties advertise maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in the family room. You'll need to figure out what is most appropriate for the company. Most rental home listings will outline each one of the unit's specific bedrooms and mattress sizes.

Exactly What Are You Willing to Shell out?

Confirm that "Tropic like Its Hot Oak Island Oceanfront House - Tropic Like Its Hot Oak Island- Beach Front" satisfies your price range *during your desired week*. Make sure to get cost-sharing commitments from friends and family well before reserving an expensive rental home. A single individual in your group must be in charge of getting payments and agreeing to responsibility for the complete rental fee at time of reservation.

Let's Discuss Amenities

What amenities is your family trying to find? Is a swimming pool reallynecessary? Are you looking for a vacation property with patio lounge? Are you more enthusiastic about a natural landscape or night life? Are bed sheets offered with the rental, or do you need to provide your own? Build a list of priority amenities to facilitate filter your search.

Accessibility and Special Things to consider

Do certain members of your party have specific needs? Make sure that you remember and inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs..

Fido Approved

Are you or other people in the family visiting with a family pet? Animal friends are welcome at a number of rental properties, but policies can vary. Read your contract very carefully! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your contract.

Start the Search

A number of websites exist to match vacationers with rental owners.. Besides Homeaway, VRBO and Tripadvisor, we suggest searching Google for "Southport local vacation homes" for local vacation home management companies. Local rental home management companies pride themselves on an exceptional rental experience.

Negotiate the Price

Re-read the description to confirm the rental has everything that you need. If it is lacking, the rental management company might know of similar properties that suit your style and budget..

Some property owners will negotiate rates, and some won't. If they are unwilling to budge on a peak-season stay, try asking for an additional night. Off-peak weeks will probably be negotiable more frequently than peak-season..

Read the Contract

You really should know which services are included:

  • Power bills
  • Internet
  • Phone service
  • Hot Tub Heating
  • Pay Per View Movies
  • Cleaning services and housekeeping
  • Trash Pickup (and which day?)
  • Maintenance (get a phone number)
  • Check in & Check Out Key Exchange
  • Parking Space

Get a total that includes taxes, animal and other additional fees.

Cancelling your Rental Home

Make sure you understand the cancellation policy before booking. Many rental property agreements include an option for trip insurance. Trip insurance, which typically costs between 1% - 5% of the base rental home cost, provides travellers with reimbursement of their vacation costs (and subsequent rental home costs) for any days missed due to personal hospital emergencies or weather, in addition to hurricane evacuation expenses, such as a unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas.

Reserve It

As soon as you think you've identified "the one", start the reservation process. Do not forget that most rental agreements require a significant rental down payment and/or security deposit to safeguard the rental owner.

Know Who to Call

Don't forget to get the manager's contact telephone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We suggest keeping the contact's details in your phone and wallet.

Congrats on reserving your rental home! You're on the right path to a wonderful vacation!

During your Stay

  • Take notes of any property damage soon after you arrive. If you find damage, or if fixes are needed contact the rental manager without delay. This can protect against disagreements during check out.
  • When there is any ambiguity about parking, rules of the house, house access, pool operations, etc... we suggest you ask the rental manager promptly. A phone call can save hours of problems.
  • Make sure to be a good next-door neighbor. . Remember the golden rule and treat others the same way you'd like to be treated by vacationers next to your residence.
  • Ask a local. Natives can frequently point you in the right direction.
  • Enjoy your stay! Make sure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the vacation rental secured when you are away, exactly like you would in your own home.

Check Out Time

  • You should make sure you've packed everything. Check drawers, bath cabinets and cabinets.
  • Make sure to walk through the rental home one final time and check for damage. When possible, do this walk-out assessment with the property owner present. If the property owner is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a good time? Most rental property sites ask for comments after your stay . Rental owners and property managers will thank you for positive ratings. If anything was wrong and they didn't correct it in a reasonable manner, or when the vacation rental wasn't as described, you may want to make it a point as part of your review.

Learn from your Stay

Hold a meeting with your family. Did everybody have a good time? With a little luck everything turned out to be perfect and you are all set to re-book the rental for next year. Maybe the rental home was not perfect, and you'll better recognize how to improve your search for the next trip.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
