Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Southport rental home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies supply Southport area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and choosing the rightvacation home:

  • Start by having your family decide on date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. 5 BR/4.5BA-Completely Remodeled, OCEANFRONT WITH POOL, Sleeps 13 has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or might be applied to your contract.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • During arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
