Strategies to get the perfect vacation home experience:

When to visit Holden Beach & When to reserve a rental home:

  • To get the most suitable rental within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies supply Southport area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • To start, have your group agree to the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Aquarius - Oceanfront Pet Friendly!!! has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your contract.

Have a great stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. text the property manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
