Amazing beach home only a short walk from the ocean! A great location at a great North Carolina beach! The neighborhood is gorgeous and peaceful and the neighbors are friendly. The beach is pretty and just a straight walk or drive down the road. We can hear the ocean waves at nighttime. Generous front porch with rocking chairs and table. Sizable master bedroom with enchanting bath. Coffee ready to go, a library, cable TV in living room. Please note that there is a main road to cross - E. Oak Island Dr. - to get to the beach. It gets busy during rush hour and high season. It’s better to take a right there and then a left on 73rd St. to avoid waiting. Parents will need to accompany kids if walking.

About the Area

Located near the beach, this vacation home is in Long Beach, a neighborhood in Oak Island. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Kure Beach and Caswell Beach, while Smith Island Museum of History and Franklin Square Gallery are cultural highlights. Traveling with kids? Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental home experience:

When to book a Southport rental home & When to go:

  • The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Summer is high season in Oak Island. To get the best value, consider changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Southport area visitors guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and pick yourrental:

  • First and foremost, have your group decide on vacation dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Beautiful Beach Getaway! Walk to Beach! Sleeps 6. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
