Strategies to get the very best Southport rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in Carolina Beach. To find the best value, shift your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Southport visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking the perfectrental home:

  • First, have your family commit to vacation dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Boat Dock Bungalow: Canal Retreat With Two Boat Slips and Private Gazebo! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
