Feel a Beach heaven w/ inter-coastal and ocean vistas at our beach home, the Pelican’s Nest in Ocean Isle Beach!

***DON’T MISS THE OIB SUMMER CONCERT AND MOVIE NIGHT SERIES***

On the East End of Ocean Isle, our designer home has 5 bedrooms, 5 ½ baths, a enormous living room and family room, wrap-around decks, an elevator, a private pool, a backyard getaway with a tiki bar and outdoor bar refrigerator, and less than a 3 min. walk to the beach (300 feet).

Our home has space for everybody and an abundance of natural light from the many huge windows all throughout the home. Our home has 3 levels, the 1st floor is the driveway / pool level, the second floor is the main entrance, and the third floor is the top level.

There are 3 bedrooms on the second floor. The first bedroom, with a queen sized bed, has intracoastal vistas, a private ensuite with tub/shower combo, and access to the front deck The second bedroom on the second floor has a king sized bed, pool and ocean vistas, back deck access, and a private ensuite with walk in shower and double vanity. Also located on the second floor is the bunk room with 4 bunk beds, all twin sized, optional trundle beds for our guests 12 yrs old & under, pool and ocean vistas, back deck access, and a private ensuite with a tub/shower combo. The family room has a huge screen T.V., an air hockey/ping pong table, and coffee wet bar. Our 1/2 bath and laundry room are located on this floor. Additionally, the pool access door is located through the laundry room.

Moving up to the top floor of our home, you enter into the main living area with a sizable couch and loveseat, and two lounge chairs. There is plenty of room for the whole family to gather around and play games or watch TV. We provide many family games and books like Monopoly, Uno, dominos, poker, playing cards, and Apples to Apples, among others.

The room is filled with natural light from the giant windows and sliding glass door leading to the front deck with intracoastal and ocean vistas. Across from the living room is the huge kitchen with handsome quartz countertops, grey cabinets and stainless steel appliances. This kitchen provides a dishwasher, and a sizable island with bar seating for 4. The kitchen offers many modest appliances for guests to use during their stay including a kuerig and drip coffee maker, toaster, kettle, and tons of pots and pans. The kitchen table seats 6-8 with additional seating for 8 on the deck outside.

The top floor has two bedrooms. The primary bedroom, located next to the kitchen, has a king sized bed, back deck access, pool and ocean vistas, ensuite with a walk in shower, a complimentary standing tub, and double vanity. Located off the living room is the fifth bedroom with a queen sized bed, back deck access and pool /ocean vistas.

In the large getaway style backyard, there is an outdoor shower to rinse the sand off before jumping into the pool. Connect to the outdoor bluetooth speaker to appreciate music while swimming. Watch T.V. while calming at the tiki bar or poolside lounge or on the Adirondack chairs. Savor freshly grilled meals from the propane grille or sit back and relax at our outdoor seating area. The driveway offers covered parking for 2 and uncovered parking for 3-4 depending on the size of your car.

Pelican's Nest is roughly 300 ft from the closest beach access point on 2nd street.

The pool is open year round, and we offer pool heating between April 1 - Oct 31, weather dependent. The cost to heat the pool varies based on the cost of propane. Typical heating costs average $850/week. We cannot and do not guarantee the pool water temperatures due to the dependency of the weather and air temperatures. Please keep in mind that the heater only runs when the pool pump is running and typically the pump does not run at nighttime due to time schedule.

The pool is private and unattended, so swim at your own risk. All kids must be supervised in the water at all times by an adult. No food, drinks, alcohol, glass, etc are allowed in or around the pool. Pool is serviced regularly (3x a week in season - 1x a week off season), however please keep in mind that due to the tropical nature of the island, it is not unusual to find unexpected debris and sand in the pool.

Please read elevator instructions CAREFULLY before operating (found in the elevator). User error will result in a $300 service charge. No kids are allowed in the elevator without an adult. Booking the best Ocean Isle Beach vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Southport area. Reserve your Southport rental property in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Filter your rental search:

  • Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. OIB EAST-END~Steps to Beach! Ocean & Intercoastal Views! Upscale Home~12/14ppl has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If not, email the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
