Welcome to the Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous… It’s a Shore Thing that this is what you will feel like during your stay. The Saltwater Pool, surrounded by tons of Parlor Seating, will make you want to call the cabana boy for your Pina Colada. If only… From the 2 Front Decks you have an Ocean View. Go ahead, check the surf. With the Ocean Crest Pier just a short walk away, you can pull up it’s web cam. Coordinate with friends at home & wave to them with the Ocean filling in the background. Since OKI is a South-Facing Beach, the sun rises & sets over the water. From the Decks, you get photo worthy vistas. Speaking of photos, don’t you wish you knew the best spots on your vacation to take them? It’s a Shore Thing that there is a book, amongst other local books, to tell you just where they are! Back Decks are also on 2 levels & overlooking the Pool activities. This is where you look down & really feel like you’ve just entered a 5 star resort. There is even a little table to bring out that midday snack & savor the fresh breeze.

As you approach you notice the natural area on the side of the bungalow that looks like its own little park. From the Front Deck or gazing through the windows inside, watch the birds flit about, darting in & out of the shade trees & bushes. Drive under the Covered Parking & unload your bags & provisions straight into the Elevator. No lugging heavy bags up the steps.

On the upper level you enter the bright & airy Open Concept Living/Dining/Kitchen areas. With all the windows, it is flooded with Natural Light & you can see the Ocean before you ever put on your swimsuit. In the Living area are 2 Cozy Appreciate Seats & a Couch. Whether you’re watching the big game or favorite sitcom on Cable or prefer to stream a movie, there is plenty of seating for everybody. Just add popcorn! The Sizable Coffee Table is well suited to the wide variety of games to play or puzzles to be assembled. Perhaps you want to go on the deck with your morning coffee & get lost in one of the numerous genres of beach reads to choose from.

The Well-Stocked Kitchen will make you feel like a chef. With tons of beautiful serving pieces you can create a buffet on the Extensive Kitchen Island. There is both a Drip & K-Cup Coffee Maker. If you prefer to Grind your own coffee beans, be sure to bring them & use the Coffee Grinder for that fresh taste & aroma. Create delicious simple meals in the 2 Crock Pots or heat up your leftovers in the Toaster Oven. Blend up the ingredients for either a morning protein shake or that Pina Colada you were wishing for by the Pool. When you come to the Beach in the South, you think of Low Country Boils. Stop by one of multiple Local Fresh Seafood Markets & pick up shrimp & other favorites to traditionally serve them up right out of the Enormous Stock Pot. Whether caught or bought, pick up some seafood & steaks for your surf & turf dinners as well. Cook them on the Charcoal Park Grille & dine Al Fresco at the Picnic Table downstairs. Back inside, Serving & Cleanup are a breeze because of the proximity of the Kitchen & Dining Areas. Have a snack & play cards sitting at the Kitchen Island Bar. There is a Half Bath on this level.

There are 3 Bedrooms. On the Upper Level is Bedroom #1, the Primary with a King-Sized Bed & an EnSuite (Jet Tub & Shower), Ocean Vistas. On the 1st level, Bedroom #2 - Primary with King & EnSuite, Shower & Ocean Vistas. Bedroom #3, has a King & a Private Entrance into the Shared Hall Bath. Bedroom #4, Ocean Vistas, has a set of Bunk Beds with a Twin on Top & a Double below. Additionally, a Twin Trundle Bed is in this room. All 4 Bedrooms have Intelligent TVs with Cable & Dressers/Closets to unpack. Leave room in your suitcase for souvenirs since there is a Full-Sized Washer/Dryer in the Laundry Room on the 1st Level. Wash off the Salt & Sand in the Outside Shower with both Hot & Cold Water & drop your towels & swimwear into the washer to always be ready for the next day of building sandcastles & searching for seashells.
Within a short walking distance is the Sea Biscuit Wildlife Preserve. Here they rehab wild birds to hopefully be released back into their natural habitat. They also offer tours (arranged ahead of time) & educate the public about the various species of birds they have rehabbed & the services they provide. Also, on this street is the 19th Street Walkway. Bring a book or take a book at the little complimentary library there. The walkway crosses over the Marshlands. You’ll want a camera for this jaunt as well. There is often wildlife to capture your attention. If you want a nice walk, take the 19th Street Walkway to the other side & walk west on Oak Island Drive to the 9th Street Walkway & back. There’s no need to rush & this loop will give you a fun & calming 3-mile outing. 2 Blocks to the Beach & 3 Blocks to the Ocean Crest Pier & Island Way Restaurant.

Our top Rental property booking tips:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • To get the largest rental home within your budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Make a plan and choose yourvacation home:

  • Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean View - Private Pool, Fenced In - 1 Block from Pier- Elevator has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Southport rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. Otherwise, call the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Upon arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
