  • 3 Bathrooms
  • Private vacation home
  • Approximately 2100 square feet

We look forward to welcoming you and your family (including dogs) to Bird’s Eye View, our 4 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home, on pilings with impressive marsh and ocean vistas and painless beach access. This 3rd-row vacation home is located on the peaceful West side of Oak Island with beautiful vistas of both the ocean and salt marsh. The home includes a cavernous two-story family room filled with natural light and plenty of seating for everybody to relax after a day in the sun.

This home is managed by the owners, rather than a property management company, so you'll receive personal attention to answer your questions or address any issues. Check out the reviews, all of which are 5-star! We're also happy to provide tips on eateries and things to do in the area.

You’ll savor cooking in the well-equipped enormous kitchen complete with dining area or on a propane grille looking out over the marsh on the back deck. No matter where you are inside or out you will have the ability to slip away and appreciate a photogenic and relaxing lookout.

The bedrooms are carefully spread around the home. The primary bedroom (Queen) is tucked away offering privacy and includes a brand new (2023) ensuite bathroom and sizable closet and window seat. A twin bedroom is located on the same floor with a powder room close by. The upstairs guest rooms share a new bathroom, with soaking tub and shower, conveniently located off the hallway. The King bedroom has a private Oceanview sitting room and flat screen tv. The Queen guestroom has access to the private rooftop deck overlooking the marsh with comfortable Adirondack chairs for your morning coffee or to watch handsome sunsets. Hidden behind a barn door on the main floor is a comfortable den with a Intelligent TV and desk/monitor setup overlooking the back deck and marsh, ideal for both peaceful remote work or Zoom Calls and family tv shows, puzzles and video games.

After you’ve appreciated the sun and surf at the beach, rinse off in the outdoor shower with hot and cold water and then relax on the back deck or front porch. Parking under the home and on huge driveway is available for full family and guest use. No need to deal with OKI's new (2023) parking restrictions.

We invested in High-Speed internet for our guests. The four TVs are "intelligent" or include firesticks so you can log in to your favorite streaming programs with YOUR log-in credentials for Netflix, Disney +, Prime Video, Hulu, Paramount+, DIRECTV Stream, YouTube TV, Spectrum Streaming, etc., etc. or even your Gaming systems.

But most of the time you'll be outdoors! Supplied for family fun are outside / beach accessories, such as beach chairs, an umbrella, corn hole boards, firepit, etc. A ping pong table is setup in the garage for team play!

The home comfortably sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms with additional room for 2 guests with additional twin beds. Linens and towels are not supplied, so you may either bring your own or contact Beach Stuff Linen Rental (www.rudd.com/beach-stuff-linen-rental). They can be reached at 910-523-0971 (in peak season can sell out).

Well-behaved, housebroken, dogs (up to 2) are welcome. Please specify when reserving. Pet costs apply: $250 for the first pet and $100 for the second. Pet costs are reduced for stays of 4 days or less.

How to book the best Oak Island vacation rental experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many management companies supply Southport area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your Search:

  • Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. West End home with Amazing Ocean and Wetland views, steps from the beach. has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
