Located right downtown in a beautiful historic row of mansions, you'll find this condo has old world appeal paired with modern amenities. The vintage wood floors, baseboards, windows and decorative non-working fireplace take you back in time to the 1800's, but the comfortable furnishings, clean ambiance, supplied kitchen, comfortable bed, intelligent TV, and wifi meet today's traveler's needs. This condo is one of five in a huge historic home on Front Street.

Your condo is private with a private entrance, and is one of 5 is an extraordinary historic home. You can chill out on the balcony near your door or sit outside in backyard on the patio. You'll have access to a shared laundry room with coin operated machines inside. You'll also get one parking pass to park a normal size car or modest pickup behind the home (complimentary parking in downtown Wilmington!!)

This condo is located in arguably the nicest block of Old Wilmington's historic mansion district. The architecture around the neighborhood is impressive, with mansions and sizable single family homes. Treat yourself to downtown's best.

If you walk out the front door onto Front Street, you'll see the glamorous Dudley Mansion from 1825, a gorgeous 10,000 sq ft estate that was home to North Carolina's first Governor. If you walk out the back door and down the cozy alley driveway to 2nd Street, you'll see block after block of elegant Victorian homes. If you adore old homes and turn of the century architecture, be sure to make some time to take it in!

Just walk!!! You're very close to eateries, shopping, nightlife, entertainment, the waterfront and riverwalk, museums, and ghost tours!

Parking:
Free parking behind the home: You have one (1) complimentary parking spot! The alley entrance to the parking area is 9 feet wide. That means you cannot fit a enormous work van or a big work truck and trailers are not allowed.

Free Parking on the Street: Everyone in Wilmington knows that street parking is a drag unless you know a local with a Historic District Parking Pass. Now you do. If your truck is too big, or you need more than one space we can get you a parking pass. Contact us, pay a $50.00 deposit (returned when the pass is returned) and you'll get a parking pass that you can use on any non metered space downtown and park complimentary!!

Laundry:
There is an on site laundry facility. We try and keep soaps in there in case you need some. The machines and the laundry room are shared with the other guests but are seldom in use.

Checkout:
Checkout is 11am, but we can offer late checkout as availability accepts. 12pm checkout is $20, and 1pm checkout is $30. Please contact us first and if we can accommodate your late checkout, we will be happy to.

How to get the best rental value:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Southport area. Booking in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses.   • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
