Strategies to get the perfect Southport vacation property experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Southport rental home:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Carolina Beach. Booking in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to choose the best vacation home in Carolina Beach:

  • Select your dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. EV charger, elevator, ocean views from rooftop! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a particular Southport destination you are enamored with, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Additional considerations:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Call the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
