Southport vacation rental home tips and tricks:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To get the largest rental within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Southport attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies supply Southport area travel guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Start by choosing the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Wrightsville Beach cottage, mins to beach ???????? has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a particular Southport destination you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • During arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
