How to find the best Sunset Beach rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Southport area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Make a plan and pick the right Southport vacation home:

  • Start by having your family commit to trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Ground-level 3 BR condo beside pool. Golf, Pool, Tennis, and Family Fun. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is best for your trip.
  • Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
