Blue Crab Bay is a extravagant second row, entirely detached home located conveniently between Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. This location offers guests fast access to the Boardwalk and all of the fun that Carolina Beach offers, including stores, ice cream, arcade and Thursday nighttime fireworks in the summer. For those who savor a quieter beach trip, the calm serenity of Kure Beach is is available just to the south, where you can walk the Kure Beach Pier, visit Fort Fisher for a impressive sunset or appreciate the aquarium.

Our home comfortably hosts 14 people featuring 5 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, a huge open living space on the top floor and 4 decks - providing the ideal space for friends and family to gather or to find a peaceful space for relaxation. We are a 1 min. walk to the sand with the Alabama Ave beach access (a favorite of local surfers!) directly across the street.

On the top (third) floor, the home features an broad open floor plan blending the kitchen, dining space, family room, sizable deck and powder room to create a ideal gathering space for friends and family.

The completely equipped gourmet kitchen features high end appliances, a gas cooktop, double oven, coffee maker and all the essentials. A enormous island with 4 bar stools offers a ideal social space, combined with the dining table featuring seating for 8 offers ample inside dining space.

The kitchen overlooks the serene coastal family room featuring a sectional couch, huge flat screen Roku TV, chic gas fireplace and wet bar with wine and drink refrigerator. The glass sliding doors push open to reveal a sizable deck where you can soak in the ocean vistas, listen to the waves and savor your coffee or beverages from the colorful high top dining table or comfortable lounge space. This is coastal living at its best!

The remainder of the top floor features a powder room, a bunk room with a full size bottom bed, twin size top bunk and twin size trundle bed. Across the hall is the first of four master suites in the home featuring a king size bed, private ensuite bathroom and ample closet space.

On the second floor, this home features three more beautiful master suites each featuring a king size bed, private en suite, Roku TV, and calming coastal decor, ideal to getaway to after a day at the beach. The primary master suite contains a beautiful, opulent ensuite with double sinks, complimentary standing bath tub, large glass shower and its own private deck facing the ocean. This is a true master getaway! The second floor is rounded out with a full size laundry room containing washer, dryer, iron and ironing board - ideal to accomodate multiple families on vacation.

The first floor of the home features a cozy, fun lounge space with a queen size sleeper couch, Roku TV,  and full bathroom with shower. For your entertainment, you will find Golden Tee and PacMan arcade games, as well as a foosball table and an array of boardgames to enjoy. 

The lounge space leads to the fully fenced in backyard where you can enjoy backyard games such as corn hole, giant Jenga or giant Connect Four while grilling out after a day of beach fun.

We've got your beach needs covered by providing beach towels, beach chairs, umbrella, and beach wagon so that all you have to do is show up and enjoy a day at the beach! For our young guests, we provide a pack 'n play and sand toys.

Please Note:

Each reservation includes linens - bed sheets, blankets, bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths, make up towels, beach towels, dish towels. Additionally, laundry, bathroom, and kitchen "starter packs" are included and each bathroom offers travel size shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion.

The home contains a modest elevator reaching all three floors for those with accessibility concerns. Ample parking is available on the double driveway, where 6 cars can comfortably and safely park. Covered parking in the car port is available for two cars.

An EV charger available for use at the rate of $50/week, or $10 a day for stays less than 7 days long. EVIQO level 2 charger, 48 amp equipped with SAE J1772 connector. Adapter needed for Tesla.

We are happy to be a dog friendly property. Two dogs under 50 pounds each are allowed with a $200 pet fee.

Our six seater forward facing golf cart is available as an additional rental upon inquiry.

How to get the best value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking your Southport vacation home in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses.   • At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise.
