Strategies to get the perfect Holden Beach rental home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Southport attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Southport area, The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Southport visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose the best vacation rental in Holden Beach:

  • Start by having your family select the best dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Welcome to Irie Vibes! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.

More considerations:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
