Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation rental experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:

  • In the Southport area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Summer is high season in Carolina Beach. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply Southport area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Southport visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to pick the perfect vacation rental:

  • Start by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Autumn Villas at Carolina Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. If they are not listed, email the property manager before you book your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is suitable for your group.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Know before you go:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
