Booking the best Wilmington vacation home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Book your Southport rental in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Southport vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Southport area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose vacation week and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Downtown Wilmington home in the Historic District, near to Cape Fear River Walk has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a specific Southport destination you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

More tips for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • During check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
